Yesterday afternoon, the Toronto Blue Jays played against the Minnesota Twins in Minneapolis, MN. This game was no contest, as the Jays won 11-3 with Jose Bautista slamming 3 home runs during the game and driving in 4 runs. With this win, the Jays have now won 5 in a row and have the leading home run hitter in the entire major leagues. Bautista already has SIXTEEN homers! At this point last year he didn't. Also too, they swept the Twins in the series. It's getting fun watching these guys again. Here's the recap.
Also too, the Vancouver Canucks defeated the San Jose Sharks last night in Game 1 of the NHL Western Conference final by a score of 3-2 with Vancouver scoring twice in the third period to win. The goal scorers for San Jose were Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau. Vancouver's scorers were Maxim Lapierre, Kevin Bieska and Henrik Sedin. Bieska and Sedin scored the winners in the 3rd period. Shots on goal favoured Vancover 38-29. It looks as though things are off to a great start for the Canucks. Here's the boxscore.
For now, that's it. The Jays play tonight at Comerica Park in Detroit to take on the Detroit Tigers at 7 PM. The game is on Rogers Sportsnet. Have a nice day!
