New Bible Translations Reek of Modern "Tolerance for Muslims" and Heresy: are removing "Father" and "Son" in Reference to the Christian Godhead
Yes, it's true. Just when you thought it couldn't get any crazier these days with Bible translations, we are now having groups such as Wycliffe Bible Translators and others make Bible versions that are more "sensitive" and "Muslim-friendly". Good grief! Imagine if some Islamic scholars desired to make the Qu'ran more sensitive to us Christians. Wow, there'd be hell to pay within some of those nations! Some Muslims would be screaming "Blasphemy!" and there would be threats of death among other things. Anyways, the controversy is that some translation groups are removing words such as "Father" and "Son" from these new Bibles whenever Scripture references those terms with the Christian God. The official reasons of course are everything from "we need to be more open with Muslims" to "Muslims only see sexual connotations with those terms whenever the Bible uses them for God. There are verses with these types of accusations in the Qu'ran, but that is not what we Christians believe. There are, however, some groups that are rightfully opposed to the proposed changes. A website named www.change.org has created an online petition (which I've already signed) that seeks to counteract the mess from ocurring. In addition, I've already sent invitations out to my email contacts to get them to sign the petition as well. Hopefully, word will get out and these heretical happenings are stopped dead in their tracks. Click here for the petition page. I just thought I'd share that with all of you. By the way, the Raptors are hosting the Atlanta Hawks tonight at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto for an NBA basketball game. The start time is 7 PM and it will be broadcasted on Rogers Sportsnet One. Have a good night, and say goodbye to January!
