London Lightning Season Preview; Season Starts Tomorrow
Yep, it's that time of year. The London Lightning minus Gabe Freeman (bolted to the Philippines), Eddie Smith (traded to Quebec Kebs - who are now the Montreal Jazz) and others are ready to take on the Halifax Rainmen. If you remember from last season, these two started off the season and met also in the championship round of the playoffs. London does still have talent: Jermaine Blackburn from the aforementioned Kebs, Morgan Lewis (an all-star from the Oshawa Power) and returnees DeAnthony Bowden, Rodney Buford, and Tim Ellis. They also have a pile of young and athletic rookies and fiery head coach Michael Ray Richardson to lead the way. Here's a pretty accurate preview of the new lineup by London Free Press sportswriter Morris Dalla Costa: read it here. That should get us all caught up. The game against the Halifax Rainmen starts tomorrow night at 7 PM EST. Catch you later.
