It's been about a week since I last posted, but tonight is the Knights last game of the preseason and it is against the Peterborough Petes at 7:30 PM. The Knights have home-ice advantage for the game as it will be played at the John Labatt Centre. You can listen to the game on AM 1290 CJBK or some of their affiliate stations, or you can watch the game on the Rogers cable channel if you get it. It should be a good one to get the old hockey blood flowing in everyone again, but I'm content to wait until the 24th when the regular season starts. Also too, the Leafs and other NHL teams have started their training camps as they prepare for the regular season which will start in October. The Raptors as some of you know, start preseason on October 6 against the Phoenix Suns in Vancouver. So, it is with great sadness that I say goodbye to the Toronto Blue Jays until next April. They have had a great season (even though they will not make the MLB playoffs). They are 73-73 (.500) and have a good young nucleus of talent (Jose Bautista, Shawn Camp, Brett Cecil, Scott Downs, Jason Frasor, Kevin Gregg, Casey Janssen, Shawn Marcum, Brian Tallet, Ricky Romero, Brandon Morrow, David Purcey, John Buck, Travis Snider, Fred Lewis, and others). What is especially good about the Jays season is that Jose Bautista has smacked 47 home runs, tying George Bell for the franchise record! Talk about an amazing accomplishment for a guy that was little-known before. He hit that home run on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles on the road. So, for fellow Jays fans, see you next April. It's been a good run, but as the old saying goes, "All good things must come to an end."
That's all for now. Catch you all later.
